About This Plant
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Hoya Carnosa ‘Krimson Queen’ Hoya, commonly called Wax Plant or Porcelain Flower, is a large genus of tropical vines and shrubs native to Southeast Asia, India and Australia. They are treasured by plant collectors worldwide for their thick, waxy, often beautifully patterned leaves and their extraordinary flowers — clusters of star-shaped, glossy blooms (umbels) that often drip sweet nectar and can be intensely fragrant. Each species has unique leaf characteristics: some are large and velvety with silver splash patterns, some are tiny heart-shaped leaves, some have succulent-like thickness, and some feature intricate fenestrations or variegations. Hoyas are relatively tolerant of lower-light indoor conditions compared to other flowering tropicals, and they reward patient growers with increasingly spectacular blooms season after season. In Indian conditions they thrive in warm, humid homes and on shaded balconies.

🌿 Care Instructions
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
☀️ Sunlight: Bright indirect light — 4–6 hours filtered sun; avoid harsh direct midday sun
💧 Watering: Every 7–10 days in growing season; every 14–21 days in winter — allow top 2 inches of soil to dry
🪴 Soil: Well-draining aroid mix: 40% potting soil + 30% perlite + 30% orchid bark; pH 6.0–7.0
🌡️ Temperature: 18–32°C; tolerates 10°C minimum; protect from frost
🧪 Fertilizer: Balanced liquid fertilizer (20-20-20) diluted to half-strength every 4 weeks during growing season
✂️ Pruning: Tip pruning to encourage bushiness; do NOT cut spent flower stalks (peduncles) — new blooms emerge from the same stalk

❓ Frequently Asked Questions
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Q: Why won’t my Hoya flower?
A: Hoyas need adequate bright light, a period of slightly drier soil and cooler nights to initiate flower buds. Don’t move the plant once buds form.
Q: Should I cut the flower stalks after blooming?
A: No! Never cut the flower stalks (peduncles). New flower clusters emerge from the same stalks season after season.
Q: How often should I repot?
A: Hoyas prefer to be slightly rootbound. Only repot when roots are visibly growing out of the drainage holes.
Q: Is Hoya safe for pets?
A: Hoya plants are generally non-toxic, though the milky sap can cause mild skin irritation. Keep away from pets that chew plants.
Q: Why are my Hoya leaves yellowing?
A: Yellowing usually indicates overwatering or insufficient light. Ensure the soil dries partially between waterings and move to a brighter location.
Q: Do you provide a care guide?
A: Yes! Every order comes with a free detailed care guide.
