Perlite for potting mix

Perlite is a lightweight, volcanic mineral used to improve soil aeration and drainage in potting mixes. It prevents soil compaction, allowing roots to breathe and water to flow freely, making it ideal for seed starting, houseplants, succulents, and garden beds. To use, mix perlite with your soil or potting mix at a ratio of 10–50%, depending on plant type. Water as usual, but note that perlite helps prevent overwatering and root rot. Store unused perlite in a dry place.
