About This Plant
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Sansevieria Masoniana Yellow Variegated Sansevieria (now reclassified as Dracaena) — commonly called Snake Plant, Mother-in-Law’s Tongue or Saint George’s Sword — is one of the most popular and widely sold houseplants in the world, and with very good reason. Its upright, sword-like leaves in combinations of deep green, silver, gold, and white stripes create a bold architectural statement in any interior. Snake plants are legendary for their toughness: they tolerate low light, drought, temperature fluctuations, air-conditioning and near-total neglect. They were one of the plants identified in NASA’s famous Clean Air Study for their ability to remove formaldehyde, benzene, trichloroethylene and other toxins from indoor air. In India they are grown everywhere from city apartments to air-conditioned offices.

❓ Frequently Asked Questions
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Q: Can Snake Plant survive in very low light?
A: Yes — it is one of the most light-tolerant plants. However, it will grow faster and develop stronger colours in brighter indirect light.
Q: How do I know when to water?
A: Insert a finger 2 inches into the soil. If it feels dry, water thoroughly. In winter, stretch this to 3–4 weeks.
Q: Is Snake Plant safe for pets?
A: Mildly toxic to cats and dogs if ingested — can cause nausea and vomiting. Place out of reach of pets.
Q: Why is my Snake Plant turning mushy at the base?
A: This indicates root rot from overwatering. Remove from the pot, trim rotted roots, let dry and repot in fresh, well-draining soil.
Q: How do I propagate Snake Plant?
A: By division (separating offsets/pups from the mother plant) or by leaf cuttings placed upright in soil or water.
