Astrophytum Ornatum, commonly known as Monk’s Hood Cactus, is a species of cactus native to the Mexican states of Coahuila and Nuevo León. It is a globular cactus with a wavy growth pattern and is heavily ribbed. The stem may reach up to 40 cm in height and 8 cm in diameter. It produces yellow flowers during the summer, followed by yellow-orange fruits. This cactus can be easily propagated by cuttings, and it is often used as an ornamental plant in deserts and rock gardens. It is also suitable for container cultivation, although it requires plenty of sunlight and well-drained soil.
