The Stenocactus multicostatus, commonly known as the ‘Brain Cactus’, is an incredibly unique and eye-catching species of cactus native to Mexico. It is a member of the Cactaceae family, and is characterized by its globular stems which form a brain shaped pattern, with each ‘brain’ consisting of up to 16 ribs. The stems are usually green in color with yellowish-orange spines, and they can grow to a diameter of up to 10 cm. Its flowers are yellow and its fruits are spherical and red.
