Description

Ginkgo Biloba, commonly known as the Maidenhair Tree, is one of the oldest tree species on earth — a living fossil that has grown almost unchanged for over 200 million years. Its distinctive fan-shaped leaves turn a brilliant golden-yellow in autumn, making it a striking ornamental centrepiece for gardens, terraces and bonsai collections.

Slow-growing and remarkably hardy, the Ginkgo tolerates pollution, poor soil and a wide range of temperatures, which makes it a favourite for city balconies and urban gardens. Its naturally elegant branching also makes it one of the most rewarding species to train as a bonsai.

Plant Care

  • Light: Full sun to partial shade — at least 4 to 6 hours of direct sunlight a day.
  • Water: Keep the soil evenly moist and let the top layer dry slightly between waterings. Avoid waterlogging.
  • Soil: Well-drained loamy soil enriched with organic compost.
  • Feeding: A balanced fertiliser once in spring and once during monsoon is enough.
  • Habit: Deciduous and long-lived — it sheds its leaves in winter and flushes fresh growth in spring.

Grown and hand-picked at our nursery, each plant is carefully packed to reach you healthy and ready to plant.
