About This Plant
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Parodia haselbergii Parodia is a genus of barrel-to-globe cacti from the highlands and lowlands of South America, particularly known for their prominent ribs, colourful spines and the generous production of bright, silky flowers at the crown. Once split into several genera (including Notocactus and Wigginsia), they have been consolidated into Parodia, which now includes classics like the Golden Ball (P. leninghausii) and Magnificent Cactus (P. magnifica). They are appreciated for their dual appeal — attractive even without flowers because of their spine colours (gold, brown, red, white) and rib patterns — and spectacular when flowering. They adapt to both outdoor sunny conditions and bright indoor environments, making them versatile and popular.
